What is the Phys Mill?
A gym yes, but also a community, of like-minded people looking to improve health and fitness by means of resistance training. It is my aim to educate individuals and groups in the art of training effectively to accomplish individual goals. All those who come into the gym, any gym, are looking for a change in body composition, all trying to increase lean muscle mass either by building muscle or reducing body fat.
It is a common misconception that resistance training is for building big muscles and cardiovascular is for losing weight. That’s not necessarily the case. The most recent studies show that the best results can be achieved by a combination of both and the resultant calorie burn from weight training far exceeds that of cardio alone. At The PhYs Mill we aim to teach first and then help individuals incorporate what they have learnt into an effective training program in a relaxed and informal environment. This is not designed to be a quick fix, but a long term solution to achieve and maintain your health and fitness goals.
What does the Phys Mill offer?
The PhYs Mill offers gym only memberships, Personal Training, Group circuits, training programs, nutritional advice, meal planning, Health and Lifestyle Analysis and Goal setting.
We currently offer circuit training on Monday Wednesday’s and Friday’s at 19.30 until 20.30. New for December is our new HIIT 30 sessions on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s, a 30 minute high intensity class catering for both body weight only and resistance based exercise for those comfortable lifting weights. Timings are planned for 18.00, 19.00 and 20.00 Tuesday’s and Thursday’s.
For the little ones:
Sunday’s offer your little ones the chance to take part in our Little PhYs Monsters program. Offered to P1-P7 children from 09.30 – 11.00am at a cost of £5 per child. This offers a structured body weight only circuit as well as a chance to look at different team and individual sports each week. Split into three components the class offers a circuit, sports intro and rounded off with some games.
We are also offering a 6 week ladies self defence workshop starting in January at a cost of £60 (over 18 only) under 18 TBC.
