Try out a Trike

05/03/2012

Would you like to save money on petrol and help the environment both locally and globally?

Would you like to have fun and get fitter?

If your answer is YES to both questions, why not take part in a cargo-trike trial in Comrie in February and March?

CDT has purchased two ‘bakfiets’ cargo-trikes with Climate Challenge Fund money, awarded to CDT from The Scottish Government, and is seeking householders, organisations and businesses interested in trialling the trikes from a week up to a month.

The trikes have been used at various events in Comrie – from collecting apples for Apple Week, giving rides around Cultybraggan Camp on Open Days and even providing a lift home from the Flambeaux celebrations at New Year!

CDT’s own Emma Margrett has been making good use of the cargo trikes recently. Hansen’s Kitchen are collecting their food waste to go in the ‘rocket’ composter. So, Emma loads the bins into the trike and cycles up to Cultybraggan Camp with it. Emma said, “despite the weight, I find it an easy trip. It’s a great way to take in the wonderful views, keep fit and get some chores done at the same time”.

If you would like to trial a trike for FREE, call in at the office, phone 670 769 or  e-mail emargrett@comrie.org.uk  for more infomation.

Minimum age of 18 years,  No previous experience of cargo-trikes necessary.
