Comrie Development Trust have appointed Carter Jonas Property consultants to sell the former Government Bunker at Cultybraggan, designed to accommodate up to 150 key Government officials in the event of a nuclear explosion.
The bunker was completed in 1990 and is thought to be the last and most technologically advanced structure ever built specifically in relation to the Cold War threat. The construction cost was in the region of £30m (construction costs today would be around £90m).
The property officially went on sale on 01 February with a guide price of £400,000 and has benefitted from a global media frenzy, with enquiries arriving from as far a field as South Africa, Australia, USA, France, Germany, Spain, India and Bermuda.
Andrew Black, an Associate of the Shrewsbury office of Carter Jonas who specialises in Infrastructures and Telecommunications added “we knew we would receive a lot of enquiries from potential purchasers on this fascinating structure, however the level of interest from around the globe has been astonishing“
