Notes from the post AGM session – 19.12.11

As promised, here is a transcript of all of the comments from the tables.

And here is a link to what we said in 2006

If you would like to add to the discussion, why not fill in the second half of that page and hand it in to the office?

Birthday wishes:

“Hats off to all Directors, Working Groups and Fringe Helpers over the past 5 years. ‘Lang may yer lums reek’”

“Well Done!”

“Many Happy Returns and Many Joys in the Future. All the Very Best”

“Well done for the past 5 years. Hope to see emerging of a beauty”

“Happy Birthday CDT. Well Done Everyone”

“Congratulations – fabulous first 5 years”

Costs of Culty Quake for families (though accept lessons learned)

Link with village to Camp improve things/access rights

Easy access to Cultybraggan Camp

Drop in numbers @ open meetings and Working Groups as well as domination at meetings of a few detractors

Village involvement i.e. identify and de-mystify the people in the CDT office , committee

Liaison between community groups – CDT rep on these.

‘them’ and ‘us’ mentality – needed to address this earlier

Investigation of different funding strands

More “brass neck”

Transport issue to camp

Training, apprenticeship i.e. help when doing work in the camp

Off road path to Camp

Self-powering for the whole village using renewables and energy efficiency.

Food processing, juice etc in one of the huts? (orchard)

Encourage more and varied small businesses

Develop positive perceptions of the Trust

Consolidation and making visible – especially at the Camp

Keep office in the village or will lose Comrie Development Trust and become Cultybraggan Trust

What about calling the camp Cultybraggan Park (suggestion from John Lumsden)

Development of Cinema

Back to futures centre (2)

Sports Group – tennis

Memorial event

Community involvement – emotional/psychological

Separate group to investigate non-government funding

Ceilidhs etc with tickets regularly as fundraiser

Traffic free access from village

Consider a small proportion of the land for affordable housing development

Demonstration area for renewable energy sources, perhaps some suppliers encouraged to provide samples/demos and advice

Continue use/help from school age children and young adults

Get Sports Facility up and running

Community Website – develop to attract visitors and community use

Playground

Business networking and co-operation

Local museum – finance needed

Youth club meeting place

Re name camp: COMRUITH CAMP or something similar

CDT office location:

Current location – 7

suggestion: if present office is let consider simply having a desk in some other office, then give up present office and move main operation to camp.
