ARCHAEOLOGICAL DIG WEEK  WITH DR IAIN BANKS

AT WW2 PoW CAMP 21

Monday 19th June – Talk at the White Church

Dr Iain Banks, Senior Lecturer in History/Battlefield Archaeology at Glasgow University will give a talk entitled “PoWs at Cultybraggan: Unwilling Guests Trying to Leave” at the White Church, Comrie at 7:30 pm (doors open at 7 pm).

Tuesday 20-24 June – Dig at the Camp

“Scotland’s Great Escape”, the Search for 3 Escape Tunnels at Cultybraggan Camp, Comrie. Dr Iain Banks and his team will excavate Compound B of the WW2 PoW Camp for signs of the three Escape Tunnels.

Unwilling Guests – A Talk by Dr Iain Banks ——- Work starts on the dig

Come along during the week (from 11am to 4pm) to see what’s going on and even take part – to find out more about taking part contact Comrieheritage@gmail.com or see the cultybraggan facebook page.

Saturday 24 June – Open Day at the Camp

Special Open Day, from 11 am – 4 pm, talk to the team and find out what they’ve found.    Guided Heritage Tours will also be running during the day  (Last tour 3 pm)

All Free events, but donations very much appreciated.

Remember to come prepared for our good Scottish weather.
